Our dahlia tuber farm is located in Washougal, WA. All tubers sold are grown in our fields, dug and washed by us, and carefully divided to ensure each tuber arrives with an eye. We keep a clean work space and sanitize our shears between each clump.

Throughout the season we have routine pest management, cull and discard any stock that could indicate disease (which is very rare), and ensure strict labeling practices to guarantee you are getting strong, healthy stock in the variety you purchase.

Thank you so much for supporting our family farm. We guarantee tubers within 72 hours of your shipment arriving, be sure to check your tubers promptly! All tubers we ship have a solid body free of rot, intact neck, and visible eye. We will never ship any tuber that we are not 100% sure is of high-quality and viable. Beyond 72 hours, we cannot guarantee tuber viability because we are not the individuals caring for and growing the tubers.

Dahlia’s typically break through the soil within 3 weeks of planting, but some tubers can be extra sleepy and will take up to 6 weeks. Try to resist the urge of digging around where you’ve planted to see what’s going on because disturbing the new roots will only slow the progress of your plant.

There are many circumstances that cause tubers not to grow, but one of the most common issues here in the northwest for us is planting too early and the tubers being hit with too much rain and rotting right in the soil. Other issues can be planting when the overnight temperatures are too low, soil that is not well draining or too compact (dahlia roots like to spread so be sure to break up the soil all around where you’ve planted your tuber). And finally pesky pests such as slugs or snails, rabbits, voles, and moles; be sure to keep those rascals out of your garden to the best of your ability!
